Dont get the praise

I like the game, on paper, but in practice it is just frustrating. The act of sliding sections around is not conducive to fast paced gameplay... At least not here. I found myself more often than not frantically looking at the screen for something to move into place and hearing "thump, thump, thump" as the enemies hit me. Surely Im not great at it, and I understand the quick loop of the game, but it didnt translate to fun for me. I wouldnt recommend You Must Build A Boat.

cest fantastique

A fanstatic game that becomes very addicting very quickly, and is unlike any other great game in the AppStore since it doesnt need timers or lives to refill over time as an addiction supplement. Solid 10/10

Fun and light, addictive

Simple to learn and fun to play, a matching game with a fantasy dungeon crawl backdrop, cool pixel-art style characters. Recommended!

Frustrating, and satisfying

Some people complain about the fast pace of this game, but YMBAB wouldnt be as good as it is without it. The stress that the monsters create by inching you toward the edge of the screen makes for some frantic gameplay that is usually reserved for "bullet hell" shooter types. The challenges are always evolving, ranging from passable, to "why the hell is this so impossible"; yet never feel like they rely on luck.

A great game I dont care for

I tried really hard to like this game but just couldnt. It has great production values and solid gameplay. I just didnt care for it. I think the frustration of losing battles when theres no good blocks on screen got to me.

Good Concept, Crucial Problem Though

You can beat the game consistently and easily by sliding and tapping your finger across the screen randomly during the matching process. When you can do better by accident than you can on purpose, you know youre playing a poorly designed game.

Awesome game!!

Im upset now that I beat it. I guess Ill accept the challenge and restart lol

Its OK but need more time

The game is OK but I really like it but I rated 1 star because you need to add in unlimited time and make it easier.

Loved the 1st game, I HATE this one

Short and to the point: same mechanics as the first but with less choice, youre forced to progress the difficulty with NO WAY to run on an easier difficulty to grind out money for upgrades. Its practically inevitable youll get to a point where youre stuck on an objective with preset conditions that you can not beat and there is nothing you can do. ===Case in point=== It wont let me play without adding a "quest", the only quest left makes it so only monsters spawn (no chests for loot), you have to kill 6 monsters and they all regenerate health. I can usually get 2-3 down (despite healing back to full in less than 2 seconds) before the monsters stop taking damage, their health bars just sitting in place, and I get to watch the screen slowly scroll to the left to defeat. Everyone who says they love it probably has not played that far are has been incredibly lucky. Every time I completed a hard objective that was blocking progress it was due to pure luck. Replay 10000000, the previous game is better in every way.

Fun!!!

Addicting and engaging!!! Really worth the purchase. Found myself looking to play whenever I had a few minutes of time between things!

Deleted my progress

This game was so fun it had amazing concepts and I absolutely loved it and it was my favorite game on my phone. Then one day I got onto it and it had deleted all of my progress for absolutely no reason. My phone hadnt restarted or anything. If you can fix my problem I will rate this game five stars but for now I have put one

A great sequel and great fun too

The game builds on the charm of the previous game. The graphics are the same as the first game, yet, it is still a new experience. It takes a little patience but it is rewarded by a sense of accomplishment when one completes the game. Yes, it is a time waster. It is also a lot of fun. I have now completed the game twice. That second time the difficulty level is increased. This made it more challenging. I do not know how many difficulty levels there are. I enjoyed it even more the second time. Good replay value!

Really fun twist on match-3 games

You Must Build A Boat is a fun, 8-bit-inspired match-3 type of game. Each run has missions and the difficulty ramps up at a good rate. It would be nice to be able to pause during the runs, but thats a minor complaint. I really enjoyed the upgrade system and all the different enemies. Lots of fun!

Good Game

Game is great and is challenging, so I never want to stop playing it. Great time waster! Very good game if you are going to put in the time. Looking forward to another game in the series!
